"No Spare Parts" on exclusive limited edition 7" vinyl

Universal Music Group has announced that The Rolling Stones will issue the previously
unreleased track "No Spare Parts" on exclusive limited edition 7" vinyl to mark Record
Store Day's "Black Friday", Friday, November 25. A digital download version of the
single will be available the week commencing November 14.
"No Spare Parts" is one of twelve bonus tracks that have been unearthed for inclusion

– widely regarded as one of the band's greatest albums. Some Girls will be released on
November 21.
"No Spare Parts" captures the daring and diverse spirit of the album's legendary
sessions. Recorded in Paris in 1978, the song tells the story of a trip from Los Angeles
to San Antonio, Texas featuring Mick Jagger on electric piano, Keith Richards on
acoustic piano, Ronnie Wood on pedal steel guitar, Charlie Watts on drums and Bill
Wyman on bass. With a country guitar twang, subtle groove, and soulful storytelling,
it's a powerful and poignant acoustic tune from The Rolling Stones, and an essential
addition to any fan's catalogue.
The limited edition 7" version of the single will also include Some Girls album track
"Before They Make Me Run" on the B-side.
Other never-heard-before tracks featured on the Some Girls reissue will include "We
Had It All", "I Love You Too Much" and "Don't Be A Stranger".

A Bigger Bash jubilee

Today it is exactly 5 years ago that Forty Licks Fanclub organized one of the
biggest international Rolling Stones fans conventions ever: the FLF Bigger Bash!
In the last week of july 2006 Stonesfans from all over the world could enjoy not only the Rolling Stones concert
in the Amsterdam Arena the 31th of July, but all kind of Stones related festivities in the city.
Fans could visit several art galleries in Amsterdam that exhibited Stones (-related) art,
such as the paintings of Ronnie Wood.
The 29th of July, The Amsterdam Bimhuis, one of the leading jazz venues in the Netherlands,
co-organized a jazz concert by Tim Ries : The Rolling Stones Project.
The actual convention took place on July 30st when rock temple club Paradiso opened its doors for
the FLF Bigger Bash.
Fans were able to enjoy all kind of Stones paraphernalia, films, exhibitions, art, a canal boat trip and…..
last but not least…. a special performance by Chris Jagger’s Atcha!
and a unique performance by Bernard Fowler, Blondie Chaplin, Bobby Keys, Tim Ries,
Michael Davis, Kent Smith, e.o.
Memorizing this jubilee, we want to express our gratitude to all the people who made this event possible.
We want to thank again all the musicians who gave us an fantastic evening,
the concert by all these talented performers, jamming together was simply amazing!
Especially when you keep in mind that the most of them had to perform the next evening with the Rolling
Stones! We also want to thank all the fans that came from all over the world to celebrate the Bigger Bash
with us and who turned Amsterdam a few days into Stonesworld!
Perhaps….until the next time……if the Stones get on the road again….!
In the meantime you can refresh your memory with a small photo impression by clicking this link.

Keith is Disruptive!

The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), in collaboration with noted Harvard Business School
professor Clay Christensen, held the second edition of the Tribeca Disruptive
Innovation Awards on April 26. Honorees included Wikipedia Founder Jimmy Wales,
Defense Advanced Research Projects Administration (DARPA) and author David
Brooks and our own Keith Richards!
Keith was recognized for his use of the "Open G Tuning" method of guitar playing.
Instead of the six strings used in standard guitar tuning, in the late 60's Keith created a
disruptive innovation by playing chords and riffs on five-string open G banjo tuning on
his electric guitar. "It changed my life," said Richards. This innovative use of Open G
tuning embodied the hallmark sound of the Rolling Stones, leaving an indelible mark on
rock and roll.

ROLLING STONES PRODUCER SAYS 10 ALBUMS OF OUTTAKES POSSIBLE
Rolling Stones producer Don Was says that there are easily enough gems in the
band's vaults to release 10 new high quality studio albums. Was, who remixed and co-
produced the newly finished tracks on the upcoming Exile On Main Street reissue due
out on May 18th, told Rolling Stone that if he had his druthers he'd dip next into the
band's late '70s Paris sessions, saying, "There's a lot from the Some Girls and
Emotional Rescue period. There are eight or nine really good songs that don't go on
the album each time for some reason -- maybe there's too many ballads or something
like that. But they could make a lot of albums from unused material."

demanding more cash than Mick Jagger and Keith Richards — not to mention

spring of 1971, the Stones moved their party to the South of France
